Keanu Reeves has a role in Toy Story 4, reveals Tim Allen

November 23, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Disney-Pixar kicked off the promotion for next year’s Toy Story 4 this month with the release of two teaser trailers [watch them here and here] and a selection of character posters [see here and here], and now comes word of a new addition to the cast of the animated sequel.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Buzz Lightyear voice actor Tim Allen has revealed that John Wick star Keanu Reeves has a role in the film (his first role in a studio animated feature), although he remained tight-lipped when it came to revealing any specific character details:

“They really will surprise you with the toys they came up with,” said Allen. “Characters came back, new guys in it that are great. Keanu Reeves has got a great part. Actually, a little inside story [about Reeves]: Even he said — gentle, wonderful guy that he is — ‘This sounds too much like Buzz Lightyear.’ And his character does have an edge to that. And the guy said, ‘So we calmed him down a little bit,’ and they reminded me his toy is only that big.”

Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.

Toy Story 4 is set for release on June 21st 2019.
