Amy Adams thinks shes “out of the DC universe now”

December 10, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Back in September it was reported by multiple outlets that Henry Cavill’s time as Superman had come to an end, and now it seems we may also have seen the last of Amy Adams’ Lois Lane in the DC Extended Universe.

Speaking with Nicole Kidman on Variety’s Actors on Actors, Adams welcomed the Aquaman star to the DC universe before stating that: “I think I’m out of the DC universe now… I think they are revamping that. I don’t know.”

Amy Adams: "My daughter said 'Can you please go do a movie that I can see? Can I watch #SharpObjects?' I'm like no, never, never" | #ActorsOnActors presented by @amazonstudios https://t.co/wlfjti6EeS pic.twitter.com/yttxnU7UPb

We’ve known for a while now that Warner Bros. and DC Films have been taking stock of their plans following the disappointing reception to Justice League, bringing in Walter Hamada as the new boss of the DCEU and reportedly shifting their focus away from the likes of Superman and Batman in favour of projects such as Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and Supergirl (not to mention the recently reported Blue Beetle, Zatanna and Plastic Man movies).

While there’s been no official word on Superman’s status within the DCEU, one would have to assume that Adams has some inside knowledge on the situation, and based on her comments above it certainly sounds like there’s nothing on the table for Lois Lane and the Man of Steel, at least for the foreseeable future.

Will you be disappointed if we’ve seen the last of Cavill and Adams in the DCEU? Can the characters just disappear from the shared universe without explanation? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
