Ed Sheeran to cameo in Star Wars: Episode IX

December 12, 2018 by Gary Collinson

It seems that the criticism surrounding his guest appearance in HBO’s Game of Thrones last year hasn’t deterred Ed Sheeran from further cameos, as the musician has reportedly scored a role in next year’s Star Wars: Episode IX.

The Sun claims that Sheeran has secretly been filming scenes for the closing chapter of Disney’s Sequel Trilogy at Pinewood Studios, where the movie has been shooting since this summer under Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams.

Unlike his Game of Thrones role however, Sheeran will presumably be a lot harder to spot in the galaxy far, far away as it is said that he’ll be following in the footsteps of Daniel Craig, Tom Hardy and Princes William and Harry by playing a First Order Stormtrooper.

Given that Sheeran is just 5ft 7 in height, it certainly begs the question – isn’t he a little short for a Stormtrooper?

Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lost), Matt Smith (Doctor Who) and Keri Russell (The Americans).
