Variety is reporting that hip hop star Nicki Minaj has joined the voice cast of Sony Animation’s The Angry Birds Movie 2.
Minaj, whose film credits include Ice Age: Continental Drift and Barbershop: The Next Cut, will feature alongside returning voice actors Jason Sudeikis (Red), Josh Gad (Chuck The Yellow Bird of Speed), Bill Hader (King Mudbeard), Danny McBride (Bomb The Bird of Bomber) and Peter Dinklage (Mighty Eagle) and new additions Leslie Jones, Rachel Bloom, Awkwafina, Sterling K. Brown, Eugenio Derbez, Lil Rel Howery, Dove Cameron, and Zach Woods. Details on her role are being kept under wraps.
The sequel to the hit 2016 video game adaptation is set for release in September 2019, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the hugely successful Rovio Entertainment mobile game series.
