Saoirse Ronan joins Wes Anderson’s new film The French Dispatch

December 26, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Mary, Queen of Scots star Saoirse Ronan is set to reunite with The Grand Budapest Hotel director Wes Anderson as part of the star-studded cast of the filmmaker’s new project The French Dispatch.

Ronan joins an ensemble that includes Anderson regulars Bill Murray, Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton along with Benicio del Toro (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Jeffrey Wright (Westworld), Lea Seydoux (Spectre) and Timothee Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name).

The French Dispatch is described as “a love letter to journalists set at an outpost of an American newspaper in 20th-century Paris and centers on three storylines.”

Ronan has had a busy 2018, appearing in On Chesil Beach, The Seagull and Mary, Queen of Scots, as well as reuniting with her Lady Bird director Greta Gerwig on Little Women, which is set for release on Christmas Day 2019.
