Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still happening, says Sean Gunn

January 31, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Sean Gunn, the brother of franchise director James Gunn, has assured fans that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still happening.

With news that James Gunn – who was released from his position as director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – is now set to direct The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. and DC Films, some Marvel fans might be wondering about the future of the Guardians.

Well, according to James’ brother Sean – who plays Kraglin in the films – Vol. 3 is still on its way. Speaking to the AP on the red carpet at a Stan Lee tribute, Sean said: “Well, my brother is doing Suicide Squad 2 right now, which I’m really excited about and I know he’s really excited about. I don’t know what’s going on beyond that. I mean, Guardians 3 is gonna get made. We’re gonna make that movie, and we’ll figure out what happens there, but you know, everything ends up having a way of working itself out I think.”

So while it is good news for fans of the franchise that the film is still going to happen, it doesn’t sound like any concrete plans are close to being made. Are you still excited to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Who would you like to see in the director’s chair? Let us know in the comments or on social media…
