Tessa Thompson and Nnamdi Asomugha to star in Sylvie

February 27, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok) and Nnamdi Asomugha (Crown Heights) have signed on to star in Sylvie, a romance from writer-director Eugene Ashe (Homecoming).

Described as a love story set in the late 50s/early 60s jazz era in New York City, the film will see Thompson as Sylvie, a young woman who meets aspiring saxophonist Robert (Asomugha) when he’s hired by her father’s record store. After a summer romance, the two reconnect years later and discover that their feelings for each other have never changed.

Thompson will be seen later this year in Sony’s Men in Black: International, and also voices the character of Lady in Disney’s Lady and the Tramp movie. Asomugha meanwhile is producing the upcoming film The Banker starring Samuel L. Jackson.
