Lucasfilm is developing a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic project says Kathleen Kennedy

April 17, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Lucasfilm is looking at creating a project connected with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic according to Kathleen Kennedy.

For years fans have been craving some Old Republic era content from Star Wars inside the new canon. Rumours and theories have suggested that Game of Thrones’ David Benioff and D.B. Weiss could be setting their planned trilogy of films in this time period but nothing has been confirmed.

However, Kathleeen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm, has now told MTV at Star Wars Celebration that the company is looking to develop a project connected with the popular video game Knights of the Old Republic:

“You know, we talk about that all the time. Yes, we are developing something to look at. Right now I have no idea where things might fall, but we have to be careful that there is a cadence to Star Wars that doesn’t start to feel like too much. We don’t have a crystal ball, you know. We tried a little bit with Solo: A Star Wars Story to see if we could do two movies a year and whether or not there was really an opportunity for that and we felt that’s not going to work so we backed off that a little bit. But it doesn’t mean we don’t think about lots of different stories because that’s the exciting thing about this universe.”

There you have it! We have no idea what this project might be or what format but it seems like conversations are certainly taking place.
