The Millennium Falcon at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is better than the film’s according to Mark Hamill

June 12, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Mark Hamill says that filming in the Millenium Falcon for the movies isn’t as good as the ride at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Fans across the world are excited to see Disney’s new Star Wars theme park Galaxy’s Edge, including the opportunity to ride in the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon. One might expect that the experience isn’t quite as good as actually filming Star Wars but Mark Hamill suggests otherwise.

Hamill was there at the attraction’s opening with co-star Harrison Ford and revealed on The Late Late Show with James Corden that the ride is the superior experience: “We were in a cutout cockpit of the Millennium Falcon with the stagehands rocking it and so forth. When you get on [Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run], you experience it in a way that you never did making the movie. We were just pretending. Here, they do everything for you.”

It certainly seems like Galaxy’s Edge isn’t just as close as fans will get to being in Star Wars but might even be an improvement!
