Zachary Levi to star in action comedy Spy Guys

June 29, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Before he reprises his title role in DC Films’ Shazam! sequel, Zachary Levi is set to reunite with New Line Cinema on the action comedy Spy Guys.

According to Deadline, New Line is looking to fast track the project, squeezing in principal photography ahead of Shazam! 2, which Levi expects to shoot in late spring or early summer next year.

Spy Guys will see Levi starring as Jason Bourne / Ethan Hunt-style spy and is forced to rely on his moronic college friends to get him out of a jam during one of his impossible missions.

Jeff Tomsic (Tag) is set to direct the film from a script by Adam Sztykiel (Due Date), while John Rickard (Horrible Bosses) and Lonely Island’s Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer will produce.
