Sony still has plans for Black Cat in its Universe of Marvel Characters

July 1, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Although it pulled the plug on its planned Black Cat and Silver Sable team-up movie Silver & Black crossover movie, it seems that Sony still has ambitions to bring Felicia Hardy to its Universe of Marvel Characters.

“I like Black Cat a lot, I think she is a really great character. We had her a little bit in [The Amazing Spider-Man 2], but she’s kind of that character that we didn’t really turn into the Black Cat yet,” Pascal tells Screen Rant. “I think that’s a really great character. We’re still working on that. I think we have plans for that.”

As Pascal notes, Sony intended on featuring Black Cat in its Amazing reboot series, with Felicity Jones taking on the role of Felicia Hardy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but of course we all know how those plans went…

Gina Prince-Bythewood subsequently signed on to write and direct Silver & Black as part of the studio’s new Marvel universe (alongside the likes of Venom and the currently in production Morbius, the Living Vampire), but it was announced this past August that the project would instead be redeveloped as two potential solo films.
