Katie Cassidy pitched a Birds of Prey series to The CW

August 29, 2019 by Gary Collinson

With Arrow drawing to a close with its upcoming eighth season, The CW has already announced plans to launch another as-yet-unrevealed Arrowverse series to air next year alongside the network’s other DC shows The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Batwoman and Black Lightning.

As yet, there’s no word on what this mystery series might be, although Arrow star Katie Cassidy has revealed that not only would she like to see the Arrowverse’s female heroes coming together for a Birds of Prey TV series, but she’s actually pitched it to the network.

“I’ve pitched it,” the actress told Newsarama. “I think they should. It’s time for women. Come on, we’ve got this.”

Female heroes are certainly in fashion at the moment, although with Warner Bros. set to release Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) next year, one would have to assume the chances of a CW series under the Birds of Prey banner is unlikely at this point.

Birds of Prey was previously adapted for The WB back in 2002 with a short-lived one-season series starring Dina Meyer as Barbara Gordon, Ashley Scott as Helena Kyle, and Rachel Skarsten as Dinah Redmond/Lance.
