Kevin Smith pleads with Sony to give Disney and Marvel what they want after Spider-Man split

August 22, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Kevin Smith isn’t taking the news of Spider-Man’s apparent departure from the MCU very well, pleading with Sony to make it right.

News has broken that Spider-Man’s future in the MCU is in serious jeopardy as Marvel apparently wanted to renegotiate a few details and ensure Kevin Feige received the correct producer credits. Sony didn’t agree with Marvel’s stance and now Spidey will be going forward without Marvel.

There are a lot of fans left feeling disappointed as a result and one of the most vocal is comic book superfan, Kevin Smith. Taking to his Twitter feed, the director posted: “Just stop it! Please Sony Pictures – give Disney what they want and millions of us will keep giving you our money!”

There will be many fans sharing Smith’s pleas, that’s for sure. We will just have to wait and see if Sony and Marvel can make up, bringing Spider-Man back to the MCU.

Our friendly neighbourhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!

Spider-Man: Far From Home features the return of Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Zendaya (Michelle), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Angourie Rice (Betty Brant), Tony Revolori (Flash Thompson), Martin Star (Mr. Harrington), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), with Jake Gyllenhaal (Prisoners) as Mysterio.
