Rumour: Marvel Studios may be considering a reboot of Inhumans

September 1, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Having originally planned to bring the group to the big screen as part of its Phase Three slate of theatrical films, Marvel Studios pulled the plug on Inhumans, instead passing the property over to Marvel Television which teamed up with IMAX and ABC to produce a rather poorly-received TV adaptation featuring Black Bolt and family.

Slammed by fans and critics alike, the TV series was short-lived, lasting for just eight episodes in total. However, if a new report from MCU Cosmic is to be believed Marvel could be looking to push the reset button, with early development said to be underway on an Inhumans movie, although we won’t see it “anytime soon”.

Now, it’s possible that this is little more than speculation, but given how clear it’s become in recent times that Kevin Feige and company at Marvel Studios pay little to no attention to the Marvel Television side of things when it comes to MCU continuity, one would have to imagine that Inhumans has at least been brought up in conversation for a future movie.

That being said, with Marvel Studios having already announced a slew of films and Disney+ TV series for Phase Four and beyond, not to mention the wealth of characters which have recently come under their control due to the Fox deal, it’s hard to imagine Inhumans being anywhere other than low down on the list of priorities at this point in time.

Would you be interesting in seeing Inhumans rebooted on the big screen, or should Marvel Studios focus its efforts elsewhere given the fact we’ve only recently had the hugely disappointing TV version? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @FlickeringMyth…
