Takashi Miike’s First Love gets a new trailer and poster

September 4, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

With a little over three weeks to go until its theatrical release, a new trailer and poster arrived online for the Yakuza crime caper First Love. Directed by Takashi Miike, the film follows the story of a young couple – a boxer and a call girl – who fall in love while getting caught up in a drug-smuggling scheme; take a look here…

The film is the prolific auteur, Takashi Miike, at his most fun and anarchic, a noir-tinged yakuza film blending genres in the story of a young boxer and a call girl, who fall passionately in love while getting innocently caught up in a drug-smuggling scheme over the course of one night in Tokyo.

First Love is set for release on September 27th.
