John Boyega to star in Netflix sci-fi They Cloned Tyrone

October 19, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor John Boyega is set to follow his next trip to the galaxy far, far away by teaming with Netflix for the “pulpy, sci-fi mystery caper” They Cloned Tyrone.

Described as “Friday meets Get Out“, the film will revolve around an unlikely trio who investigate an eerie series of events which alert them to a nefarious conspiracy lurking beneath their hood.

Creed II screenwriter Juel Taylor is set to make his directorial debut on the film, having co-written the script with Tony Rettenmaier.

Following December’s The Rise of Skywalker, Boyega will be seen in the legal drama Naked Singularity alongside Olivia Cooke and Bill Skarsgard, and also teams with Black Panther star Letitia Wright on the sci-fi romance Hold Back the Stars and Steve McQueen-directed series Small Axe.
