Stranger Things season 3 delivers Netflix’s highest ever viewing figures

October 20, 2019 by Gary Collinson

As part of its quarterly shareholder update, Netflix has announced that the third season of its acclaimed supernatural drama series Stranger Things delivered record viewing figures for the streaming service, having been viewed by 64 million households in its first four weeks of release.

In addition to Stranger Things, Netflix also touted the success of several of its other Originals, including the limited series Unbelievable (32 million households), season three of La Casa de Papel / Money Heist (44 million households – the most-watched in non-English language territories) and the feature films Tall Girl (41 million households), Secret Obsession (40 million households) and Otherhood (29 million households).

Netflix has already announced that it has renewed Stranger Things for a fourth season, which will presumably arrive on the streamer at some point in 2020.

Stranger Things features a cast that includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Cara Buono, Dacre Montgomery, Sadie Sink, Priah Ferguson and Cary Elwes.
