Clive Owen to play Bill Clinton in Impeachment: American Crime Story

November 17, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Clive Owen (Gemini Man) has been cast as former U.S. President Bill Clinton in Impeachment: American Crime Story, the third season of FX’s acclaimed anthology drama.

Impeachment is set to explore the sex scandal that shook the Clinton administration in the 1990s when it was revealed that Clinton had engaged in a sexual relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Charged with perjury over misleading testimony, Clinton found himself impeached but was ultimately acquitted of all charges and remained in office.

Impeachment sees Owen joining a cast that includes Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart) as Monica Lewinsky, Annaleigh Ashford (Masters of Sex) as Paula Jones, and American Crime Story and American Horror Story regular Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp.

Filming on Impeachment: American Crime Story is set to get underway in March 2020 ahead of a planned premiere on FX on September 27th 2020, although this date may be pushed back after a recent delay to the production schedule.
