Harrison Ford heading to the small screen for The Staircase

November 24, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Hollywood legend Harrison Ford has signed on for his first ever series regular role on the small screen, with Deadline reporting that he’s set to star in Annapurna TV’s new drama The Staircase.

The series is based upon the 2004 documentary miniseries of the same name, which explores the true case of novelist Michael Peterson, who was convicted of murdering his wife Kathleen after claiming to have discovered her body at the foot of the stairs in their home. The French documentary series was brought to wide attention last year with its arrival on Netflix.

Ford was last seen on screen in 2017’s Blade Runner 2049, although he did lend his voice to this year’s animated sequel The Secret Life of Pets 2. He’s next up in a live-action adaptation of Jack London’s The Call of the Wild in 2020, and remains attached to reprise the title role in Indiana Jones 5 for Steven Spielberg.
