Lance Reddick hasn’t seen a script for John Wick: Chapter 4 yet

November 19, 2019 by Liam Waddington

Lance Reddick, who plays Charon, the concierge at the Continental Hotel in New York, has claimed there isn’t a script yet for the fourth instalment in the John Wick franchise. Additionally, Reddick says Keanu Reeves’ busy schedule could be a reason as to why John Wick: Chapter 4 is slow on entering production right now.

“Last I heard, there wasn’t a script yet but that was a month ago,” Reddick told ComicBook.com. “I know they’re working on it but part of the problem in terms of scheduling now is that Keanu signed on to do The Matrix 4 and he has the new Bill & Ted coming up. He has three franchises he’s juggling so I’m just not sure if he’s going to do The Matrix 4 or John Wick next.”

Reddick does highlight a good point regarding Reeves’ schedule as he is currently working on Bill & Ted Face the Music which is set for release on 21st August 2020, while Chapter 4 and The Matrix 4 are dated for 21st May 2021 and 2022 respectively. Although Chapter 4 is slated for a earlier release date, The Matrix 4 will require a longer post-production process with the heavy use of CGI compared to John Wick’s practical effects.
