A new draft of the Metal Gear Solid movie script is ready and is full of Kojima quirkiness

December 5, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the director of the planned Metal Gear Solid movie, has finished the latest draft of the script and it’s apparently full of Kojima quirkiness.

The Metal Gear Solid franchise is one of the biggest in video games and Jordan Vogt-Roberts is looking to capitalise on the game’s cinematic nature by turning it into a film.

The Hideo Kojima game is an epic sci-fi espionage adventure and is one of the strangest worlds you will come across. Jordan Vogt-Roberts has been working on the film for some time – when he isn’t doing a cameo in Kojima’s latest game Death Stranding – but he has now revealed a new draft has been delivered.

Taking to his Twitter, the director said: “I’m sorry can’t update you on the MGS film more regularly… but:

“-We just turned in a new draft. It’s full Kojima-quirk and full Military surrealism. I won’t say more ?
“-I’m hoping to meet a specific actor very soon 🙂
“-Let’s make this movie!”

BONUS IF YOU MADE IT TO THE END: I’m sorry can’t update you on the MGS film more regularly… but:

Vogt-Roberts’ passion for the franchise is clear and he seems determined to do justice to Kojima’s iconic vision. We will have to wait and see how it all turns out. Fingers crossed Hollywood doesn’t water down the project or keep it in development hell.
