Jude Law and Taika Waititi heading to Showtime for The Auteur limited series

February 16, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Fresh from his Best Adapted Screenplay win at the Oscars, Jojo Rabbit director Taika Waititi looks set to team with The New Pope’s Jude Law on The Auteur, a limited series Hollywood satire for Showtime.

According to THR, Waititi and Law will serve as executive producers on the series, with Law portraying “the eccentric title character” and Waititi writing with Peter Warren and directing at least one episode. Further plot details are being kept under wraps at this point.

As yet, there’s no word on a potential start date for The Auteur, as both Waititi and Law have busy schedules ahead of them. Waititi is currently in post on his next feature Next Goal Wins and is set to shoot Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder later this year, while Law has filming on Fantastic Beasts 3 coming up.
