Disney+ has seen a massive jump in subscribers amid forced isolation

March 26, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Due to societal shutdown and mass isolation, Disney+ has seen a massive jump in subscribers.

Now that we are all forced to be at home due to the global health crisis, we are all as a result, looking for ways to pass the time – with many of us turning to online streaming services.

Disney+ has been a huge winner in this regard as Forbes is reporting that US subscribers to the platform have tripled during this period of consumer isolation. The report reads:

“Between Saturday, March 14, 2020, and Monday, March 16, 2020, the number of Disney+ signups more than tripled compared to the same period from the week prior, according to data provided exclusively to Forbes from streaming analytics firm Antenna.

“Coinciding with school closures across the country, the period saw the biggest gain for family-friendly Disney+ in 2020.”

It’s not hard to imagine that the family-friendly platform would be seeing big numbers during these troubling times. Hopefully, its new subscribers are finding its content a welcome escape from all that is occurring.
