Eiza Gonzalez provides an update on Godzilla vs Kong, believes fans are going to be really happy

March 18, 2020 by Liam Waddington

Godzilla vs Kong star Eiza Gonzalez has provided an update on the fourth instalment in the MonsterVerse franchise and confirmed she has filmed all of her scenes.

“My Godzilla schedule was very demanding; I’m in the whole film,” Gonzalez said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote her new movie Bloodshot. “Everything’s been done. These movies take a long time because there’s a lot of CGI in them. But, yeah, we’ve done everything, and they’re just going through and creating these incredible characters. I’m just really excited to see it because it’s these two worlds colliding.”

The actress continued to praise the Godzilla vs Kong director Adam Wingard and most importantly is confident the cast and crew have created a film that will make the fan base “really happy.”

“The fan base for Godzilla vs. Kong is incredible. When I say I’m in the movie, people are like, “Oh my God.” Seeing that fanaticism and seeing how excited they are to see this movie makes me really excited; I think they’re going to be really happy. [Director] Adam Wingard is so talented. Both stories are going parallel, as you’ll see, without giving anything away. It’s a large cast as well, and it was really fun to be part of it. There’s so much going on, but the heart of it is two young girls as well, which is such a positive message for society nowadays. It’s just incredible.”

However, fans of the MonsterVerse franchise are going to have to wait a little longer as Godzilla vs Kong was pushed back eight months to November 20th 2020 from its original release date of March 2020 after the underwhelming performance of Godzilla: King of the Monsters both critically and commercially.

In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.

Godzilla vs. Kong is directed by Adam Wingard (The Guest, Blair Witch) and sees Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Kyle Chandler (Bloodline) and Ziyi Zhang (The Cloverfield Paradox) reprising their roles from Godzilla: King of the Monsters, while new additions to the MonsterVerse include Alexander Skarsgard (Big Little Lies), Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2), Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta), Demian Bichir (The Hateful Eight), Rebecca Hall (Holmes and Watson), Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist), Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver), Shun Oguri (Crows Zero), and Lance Reddick (The Wire).
