The Simpsons will be available to stream on Disney+ in the UK

March 4, 2020 by EJ Moreno

Fear not Simpsons fans in the United Kingdom, as the animated series will make its way onto the Disney+ streaming service when it launches this month.

In a tweet on Wednesday morning, Disney said more than 600 episodes of The Simpsons would be included on Disney+. It also came with confirmation that content from Nat Geo, Marvel, and Star Wars will be there as well.

Disney and the Comcast-owned Sky, the current home of The Simpsons in Britain, haven’t been too clear about the show’s inclusion on the Disney+ lineup, but this puts to bed weeks of speculation. The companies reportedly penned a content deal on Tuesday, making a final confirmation that UK Simpsons fans can access the show’s back catalogue – a massive perk that’s been a selling point for the service in the States.

It’s reported that the show will also remain on Sky and Channel 4 for the foreseeable future. Sky called it a “co-exclusive” arrangement with Disney.

This news also comes shortly after Disney was forced to cancel the European launch event for Disney+ this week over coronavirus fears. They’ve taken to social media as a way to trickle out news about the launch.

Disney+ will launch in the UK on March 24th.
