Netflix’s The Witcher season 2 set to resume production in August

June 24, 2020 by Liam Waddington

Earlier this year, production on the second season of Netflix’s The Witcher series came to a halt after Netflix postponed all filming on their films and television projects in development due to the ongoing global health crisis. However, Netflix has now confirmed filming on the follow-up season is officially set to restart in August.

The announcement from the official The Witcher social media channel which came from a verse that sounds like it was written by Jaskier but more importantly, reveals production will resume on August 17th. Although there is no confirmation if the halt in production will affect the planned 2021 release date.

I’m dusting off my lute and quill,
I have some news, some mead to spill:
After all the months we’ve been apart
It’s time for production to restart.
The Witcher and his bard – who’s flawless,
Will reunite on set 17 August.

This news isn’t too surprising as the UK, where The Witcher is filmed, recently announced guidelines to maintain safe working environments during this period in order for film and television to resume production.
