Less than two months on from its premiere, Hulu has announced that it has renewed its satirical historical comedy drama series The Great for a second season, which – like the first – will run for ten episodes.
The Great stars Elle Fanning in the title role as Catherine the Great, the longest running female leader in Russian history, and follows the unlikely rise and spectacular reign of the feminist trailblazer.
Created by Tony McNamara, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of The Favourite, the first season of the show sees Fanning starring alongside the likes of Nicholas Hoult, Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, Sacha Dhawan, Sebastian de Souza, Bayo Gbadamosi, and Belinda Bromilow.
The first season of The Great is available to watch now on Hulu, while season two is expected to arrive at some point in 2021.
