Adria Arjona joins Disney+’s Cassian Andor Star Wars series

August 10, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Pacific Rim: Uprising and 6 Underground star Adria Arjona has joined Diego Luna in the cast of Lucasfilm’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel series at Disney+.

Details on Arjona’s character are being kept under wraps, but it is said to be a lead role in the series which revolves around Diego Luna’s Rebel spy Cassian Andor.

Also featuring in the series are returning Rogue One stars Alan Tudyk (K-2SO) and Genevieve O’Reilly (Mon Mothma), along with Star Wars newcomers Stellan Skarsgard (Chernobyl), Denise Gough (The Kid Who Would Be King) Kyle Soller (101 Dalmatian Street).

Rogue One co-writer Tony Gilroy (who also oversaw reshoots on the 2016 Anthology movie) is writing the pilot episode for the as-yet-untitled series as well as directing multiple episodes and serving as showrunner. As a result of the pandemic, it’s unclear at this point when Lucasfilm plans to begin production on the show, or whether it is still aiming for a 2021 premiere.
