Ben Solo Star Wars spin-off rumoured to be in development

August 21, 2020 by Samuel Brace

The latest Star Wars-themed rumour suggests a Ben Solo spin-off is in development at Lucasfilm.

There is no question that Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren was one of the most popular characters in the sequel trilogy, with his redemption as Ben Solo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker being a fan-favourite moment from the final film in the Skywalker saga.

It seems that Lucasfilm is noticing the huge love for the character and that they are actually considering a spin-off project for him. This rumour comes from Kessel Run Transmissions, which reports that a possible animated series or live-action project about a young Ben is in the works:

“We’ve heard Ben Solo is a character Lucasfilm wants to further develop. We don’t know if this is a series or movie, but it’s definitely being worked on. We also don’t know if this is pre-TFA or post-TROS, but if I were to guess I’d say pre-TFA. Again, this is in early development.”

“We’ve also heard nothing about Adam Driver being attached to the project which leads me to believe this could be animated or a young Ben Solo featured in a live action series.

“The big thing here is LFL is very aware of Ben’s popularity and they do want to continue his story in some form. This is the other sequel trilogy character that we’ve been hearing about for months.”

This is all very exciting news for fans of Ben Solo. While a comic has been released that focuses on Ben becoming Kylo Ren and turning to the dark side, it would great to see him once again on screen. Hopefully, this rumour turns out to be true, but we shall see…
