The Lord of the Rings – Gollum gets a first teaser trailer

August 27, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Daedalic Entertainment has released the first trailer for its upcoming action adventure game The Lord of the Rings – Gollum, which serves as a prequel to J.R.R. Tolkien’s iconic fantasy trilogy and follows the former Sméagol on his journey to Mordor in search of Bilbo Baggins, the thief who stole his “precious” during The Hobbit. Watch the trailer here…

“The game mixes stealth with vertical climbing parkour,” explained lead game designer Martin Wilkes in an interview with IGN. “If you want a reference you might think of it as similar to Prince of Persia. It is mostly a non-combat game, but Gollum will be able to stealthily take out enemies. However, this will not be easy and always come with big risks. We want players to carefully weigh these encounters. After all, Gollum’s strengths lie in cunning not combat.”

The Lord of the Rings – Gollum is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC at some point in 2021.
