Update 0.2.0 arrives for Grounded

August 28, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Update 0.2.0 is now available for Obsidian’s latest survival game Grounded.  This latest update introduces lots of new features including new creatures, a Perk system, more craftables and much more.  A new developer vlog (see below) showcases these new additions.

There’s now even more reasons to seek out the friendly BURG.L thanks to new quest types.  When seeking jobs, players can now do Artificer quests which involve crafting, and Chipsleuth quests that involve locating more BURG.L chips.  BURG.L also has a new item that can be traded for research, provide this affable robot with enough Research (7000 to be exact) and unlock Meat Shield, a new Perk that will improve Max Health.  These new Perks will add a variety of different abilities that will help strengthen characters.

Ever thought there should be more creatures in the garden? Well head on over to the flooded area to find the cute water fleas.  Not only do these creatures add a bit of a life to the area but they’re also a new source of goodies.  Less friendly is the introduction of the bird, we’ve all seen A Bug’s Life, we know what birds do to small insect sized creatures so maybe it’s best to seek cover if a shadow looms over your character, though its feathers can be used to craft a luxurious new bed.  Talking of dangerous creatures, spiders have been made tougher with a new set of attacks.

There’s new crafting opportunities as well, make tables and chairs for added comfort in your base, create aesthetically pleasing fences to surround your rooftop gardens or patios and sleep in comfort in a feather lined bed.

There’s also been lots of updates to existing features, including despawning of items left outside of containers for 48-72 in-game hours, reduction of stun ratings of two-handed weapons and an increase in food being dumped in the garden.

There’s much more to discover with this update so get in the back garden and get exploring.
