Brandon Routh says it’s possible that his Superman returns for The Flash movie

November 5, 2020 by Samuel Brace

In a recent interview, Brandon Routh has addressed the possibility that his Superman could appear in The Flash movie.

The upcoming Flash feature film seems to be bringing multiple DC cinematic worlds together, as evidenced by the inclusion of both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck’s Batmen.

But could this colliding of worlds include other heroes too, such as Superman perhaps? Brandon Routh starred as Superman in 2006’s Superman Returns and was asked if this was a possibility on the Geek House Show:

“Can we? I mean yeah I think that’s always a possibility. Of course, they’re bringing in Michael Keaton, which I’m excited about, and some other people from the past DC projects. I think it’s very exciting – it worked really well in ‘Crisis On Infinite Earths,’ and I was extremely proud and honored to be a part of it and to reprise my Superman. So it’s absolutely a possibility – you can do anything! Everybody lives and dies all the time in those things.”

As Routh mentions, he has already reprised his role as Superman in DC’s Arrowvese crossover Crisis On Infinite Earths. Could it happen again, but this time on the big screen? We will have to wait and see, but let us know on our social channels @FlickeringMyth if you’d be keen to see the return of Routh’s Man of Steel…

The Flash is set for release on November 4th, 2022 and sees Andy Muschietti (It) directing a cast that includes Ezra Miller (The Flash), Ben Affleck (Batman) and Michael Keaton (Batman).
