James Gunn’s Peacemaker series casts Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland and Chris Conrad

November 11, 2020 by Ricky Church

James Gunn’s upcoming Peacemaker series, a spin-off to The Suicide Squad, has added Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black), Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Chris Conrad (Patriot) and The Suicide Squad’s Jennifer Holland to its cast.

Brooks will play a character named Leota Adebayo, with Patrick as Auggie Smith; both seem to be original characters as there is no one by those names in the DC Universe. Holland will reprise her role as Emilia Harcourt from the upcoming DCEU movie, while Conrad will portray Adrian Chase, a.k.a. the crime-fighter Vigilante.

The new additions join John Cena, who is reprising his The Suicide Squad role as the eponymous Peacemaker, as well as Steve Agee as John Economos, the warden of Belle Reve Federal Penitentiary and an aide to Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller in The Suicide Squad.

While specific plot details are being kept under wraps, we do know the Peacemaker series will run for eight episodes and will be an action-adventure comedy that will focus on the origins of Peacemaker, “a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.”

The Suicide Squad sees James Gunn directing a cast that includes Suicide Squad returnees Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag) and Viola Davis (Amanda Waller) as well as new DCEU additions Idris Elba, Peter Capaldi, Alice Braga, Nathan Fillion, Taika Waititi, Jennifer Holland, David Dastmalchian, Joaquín Cosío, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, John Cena, Pete Davidson, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Julio Ruiz, Steve Agee, Michael Rooker, and Sean Gunn.
