December 24, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Good news for fans of Netflix’s Cobra Kai, as the streamer has announced today that season three of the acclaimed Karate Kid sequel series has been moved up a week from January 8th and will now arrive on New Year’s Day!

“QUIET! I heard you all whining about season 3 taking forever,” reads a statement from the official Cobra Kai Twitter account. “So I called the pawn shop and the guy walked me through this Netflix thing. Dude knows his stuff. Now you get it a week early. See you Jan 1, nerds – Johnny Lawrence”.

Cobra Kai takes place 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, where a now successful Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) struggles to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of Mr. Miyagi, and must face his previous adversary, down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo.

Along with Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso) and William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence), Cobra Kai stars Courtney Henggeler (Amanda LaRusso), Xolo Maridueña (Miguel Diaz), Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene), Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso), Jacob Bertrand (Hawk), Gianni Decenzo (Demetri), Peyton List (Tory) and Martin Kove (John Kreese), while season three will feature the return of Tamlyn Tomita (Kumiko) and Yuji Okumoto) from The Karate Kid Part II.

The first two seasons of Cobra Kai are available to stream now on Netflix, with season three landing on New Year’s Day.
