DC announces new Wonder Woman creative team

December 5, 2020 by Ricky Church

As audiences prepare for the release of Wonder Woman 1984 both in theatres and on HBO Max, DC Comics has announced a new creative team to lead the Wonder Woman comics beginning in March 2021.

At Brazil’s CCXP Worlds, DC revealed that Becky Cloonan and Michael W. Conrad will write the series with Travis Moore as the artist. The trio are writing DC’s Future State: Immortal Wonder Woman, which is a part of the publisher’s Future State series that will take over the lines from January – February before bringing back some regular ongoing titles in March.

The team will take over the series with March’s Wonder Woman #770, for which they released the main cover below and the wrap-around variant cover above the showcases the different eras of Wonder Woman’s allies and enemies, including the new Wonder Girl Yara Flor, who will be leading her own Wonder Girl series from writer/artist Joelle Jones.

Cloonan has worked on titles such as Channel Zero, Batgirl and co-created Gotham Academy. Conrad recently wrote Doom Patrol for DC while Moore has illustrated Nightwing, Fables and more for DC.

Other DC titles that will begin in March include Suicide Squad, Swamp Thing, Justice League Dark, Teen Titans Academy and Green Lantern. Creative teams for Batman and Superman have not yet been announced.
