December 11, 2020 by Matt Rodgers

Joining the likes of Mulan and Pixar’s Soul, Disney has announced at its rather exciting investor day that the Robert Zemeckis directed live-action version of Pinocchio and David Lowery’s latest take on J.M. Barrie’s classic tale, Peter Pan and Wendy, will now skip cinemas altogether and find their home on Disney+

David Lowery has form in the Disney live-action arena having previously made the criminally underrated Pete’s Dragon, and here will direct Jude Law as Captain Hook, and Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell.

Pinocchio is another oft-told tale, this time filtered through the unique lens of Robert Back to the Future Zemeckis, and starring Tom Hanks as Geppetto.

Neither film has been give a release date yet, and judging by the amount of content being spewed forth by Disney, it could be some time before either are streamed to your television set, but don’t let that stop you letting us know what you think about these latest Mouse House developments on our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
