Pedro Pascal teases different timelines and crossovers for The Mandalorian and other Star Wars spinoffs

January 21, 2021 by Samuel Brace

Pedro Pascal, the star of The Mandalorian, has teased what the future holds for the show’s spinoff series and how crossovers might work.

While Star Wars fans are excited about a third season of The Mandalorian, news that the show is getting a number of spinoffs or connected series is a tantalising prospect too. We know that The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Rangers of the New Republic are all coming and will be part of a mini-connected storyline culminating in a climactic event.

It stands to reason that characters from The Mandalorian can cross over into these other shows, as well as the obvious like Boba Fett and Ahsoka. Perhaps Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin could also appear in other shows. Anything is possible.

Unfortunately, Pascal couldn’t say much about the future plans in his interview with IndieWire but he did drop a few teases about how things might work:

“I am told what’s happening and what the plan is, but I can’t share it. They are in the expansion of this world, where there are so many unexpected surprises and timelines that are going to be dealt with. If the character were to cross over into these worlds, it will be utilized in a way that isn’t meant to be expected. I wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise of whether or not characters from the show we already know are crossing over.”

The mention of different timelines is intriguing but that could mean anything; perhaps he is referencing that the shows will jump around in time with flashbacks, start before The Mandalorian, or even, in the case of Ahsoka, utilise time travel via the World Between Worlds – a strange plane of existence that unlocks different moments in time throughout the Star Wars saga? The Mandalorian season two sees the returning Pedro Pascal (Din Djarin), Gina Carano (Cara Dune), Carl Weathers (Greef Karga), Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon), Bill Burr (Mayfield), and Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand) joined by the likes of Temuera Morrison (Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones), Katee Sackhoff (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Timothy Olyphant (Justified), Michael Biehn (The Terminator), Rosario Dawson (Daredevil), and WWE Superstar Sasha Banks.
