Action-packed racer Hot Wheels Unleashed coming PC and consoles this September

February 27, 2021 by Andrew Newton

International toy manufacturer Mattel and developer Milestone have announced they will be releasing a new action packed, arcade racer for PC and consoles based on the hit toy car line Hot Wheels.  Hot Wheels Unleashed will arrive on 30th September and allow players to race in a variety of single player modes and with friends in multiplayer along the Hot Wheels’ iconic orange tracks.

With Hot Wheels Unleashed, jump into the driver’s seat of the die-cast toys and take part in adrenaline fueled races filled with drifts, boosts and jumps. There will be a large choice of Hot Wheels vehicles with each having different attributes and rarity levels and all will be able to be customised with different skins.

Races will take place over fantastically designed tracks set in everyday locations and feature special track pieces and interactive items, plus there will be a special Track Editor that will allow players to customise tracks and share them with others in the community.

“We continue to focus on engaging consumers with our brands through gaming platforms,” said Andrew Chan, Head of Digital Gaming, Mattel. “Hot Wheels is all about encouraging the challenger spirit and Hot Wheels Unleashed brings that mission to life for gamers of all ages. Milestone’s expertise in racing game development has enabled us to transform the Hot Wheels brand into a compelling console and PC gaming experience for both current Hot Wheels fans and gamers who may be rediscovering the iconic brand.”

“Like many other team members who worked on the game, I’ve been playing with Hot Wheels since I was a child, and today I’m still a hungry Hot Wheels fan and collector,” said Michele Caletti, Executive Producer, Milestone. “This is the reason why we’re all so committed in delivering the purest and most authentic Hot Wheels gameplay experience ever in a videogame. We owe it to the Hot Wheels community and to our inner children.”

Hot Wheels Unleashed will release on Xbox One, Series X/S, Playstation 4 & 5, Nintendo Switch and PC on 30th September. and is available to pre-order today.
