Marvel’s WandaVision director shoots down fan theories about surprise tenth episode

March 4, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Disney+ is set to drop the hotly-anticipated finale of Marvel Studios’ WandaVision in a few short hours, but with a week’s break between the final episode and the premiere of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, there’s been a lot of speculation online theorising that Marvel could have a special ‘secret’ tenth episode of WandaVision up its sleeve.

Well, if you’ve been holding out hope for this extra episode, we’re afraid we have some disappointing news for you as director Matt Shakman has shot down the possibility during an interview with Screen Rant.

“No, I haven’t heard this theory, no,” said Shakman when asked about a potential tenth episode. “I know there was a Making Of episode the following week, so there’s some continuing WandaVision in the Disney+ world the following week. But we’re wrapping up our show.”

The Making Of special that Shakman is referring to is titled Marvel Studios’ Assembled: The Making of WandaVision, which will drop on Disney+ next Friday, offering a behind-the-scenes peek at the series similar to Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian.

Marvel Studios’ captivating new series WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

WandaVision features a cast that includes Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis), Randall Park (Agent Jimmy Woo), Teyonah Parris (Empire) as Monica Rambeau, and Kathryn Hahn (Bad Moms) as Agatha Harkness.
