Mission: Impossible 7 adds Cary Elwes, Rob Delaney, Mark Gatiss and more, see first-look images

March 12, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Following on from the news that the long-running action franchise will no longer be shooting the eighth instalment back-to-back due to the ongoing global health crisis, director Christopher McQuarrie has announced the newest additions to the cast of Mission: Impossible 7 whilst also providing first-look images for their respective characters.

McQuarrie has announced in a series of Instagram posts that the latest members of the cast now include Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2), Mark Gatiss (Sherlock), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Charles Parnell (The Last Ship), and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, Stranger Things).

Although the director hasn’t specifically mentioned who each of these actors will be playing, he does mention ‘The Community’ in these photographs. While this is pure speculation, The Community could be government-related or they are possibly playing the next villainous organisation following the collapse of the Syndicate/the Apostles in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible – Fallout at the hands of the IMF.

Mission: Impossible 7 also features returning stars Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Henry Czerny, along with new additions Esai Morales (Titans), Hayley Atwell (Avengers: Endgame), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), and Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire).
