Original Mighty Ducks returning for The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers

March 23, 2021 by Amie Cranswick

It’s not just Emilio Estevez’s Coach Bombay who’s making his return for the upcoming Disney+ series The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, as Entertainment Weekly has revealed that six cast members from the original Mighty Ducks movies will be reprising their roles for guest appearances in the sixth episode of the new show.

Set to feature in the episode are Elden Henson as Fulton, Matt Doherty as Averman, Vinny La Russo as Adam Banks, Marguerite Moreau as Connie, Garret Henson as Guy, and Justin Wong as Kenny Wu.

“It starts with a fun encounter Coach Bombay has with Fulton — they have an interesting run-in on the street reminiscent of ways they used to meet each other back in the early days,” explains creator Steven Brill. “This chance meeting between Bombay and Fulton leads to a bigger story.”

In the 10-episode season set in present-day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of youth sports today. With the help of Gordon Bombay, they rediscover the joys of playing just for love of the game.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers will premiere on March 26th.
