John Cho is a magical dragon in teaser for Netflix’s Wish Dragon

April 29, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Netflix are rolling out the marketing for their animated acquisitions from Sony Pictures, so now following the teaser for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Vivo, we’re getting a look at John Cho voicing a magical beast in Wish Dragon.

Dropping on June 11th, the animated adventure has already grossed $20M in China, and features the vocal talent of Jimmy Wong (Mulan), Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians), and Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society).

In Sony Pictures Animation’s Wish Dragon, Din, a working-class college student with big dreams but small means, and Long, a cynical but all-powerful dragon capable of granting wishes, set off on a hilarious adventure through modern day Shanghai in pursuit of Din’s long-lost childhood friend, Lina. Their journey forces them to answer some of life’s biggest questions – because when you can wish for anything, you have to decide what really matters.
