Netflix premieres first trailer for the Ewan McGregor-starring Halston

May 3, 2021 by EJ Moreno

Ryan Murphy returns to Netflix with another fabulous and fierce project. This time, he’ll tackle the real-life figure of Roy Halston in the new limited series Halston.

Set in the golden age of New York fashion and madness, Halston will follow the famed fashion designed as he struggles to keep his name afloat in the insane world of luxury fashion. Ewan McGregor stars as the titular figure, where he’s joined by an all-star cast that includes Krysta Rodriguez as Liza Minnelli, Rebecca Dayan as Elsa Peretti, Bill Pullman as David Mahoney, Rory Culkin as filmmaker Joel Schumacher, and Vera Farmiga as a character named Adele.

The limited series Halston follows the legendary fashion designer (Ewan McGregor) as he leverages his single, invented name into a worldwide fashion empire that’s synonymous with luxury, sex, status, and fame, literally defining the era he lives in, 1970’s and ‘80’s New York — until a hostile takeover forces him to battle for control of his most precious asset… the name Halston itself.

Halston will premiere on Netflix on Friday, May 14th.
