Terry Silver returns in Cobra Kai Season 4 teaser

May 27, 2021 by Ricky Church

Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso are about to have their hands full as Terry Silver is returning to the Valley in the fourth season of Cobra Kai. Netflix revealed the addition in a teaser for the upcoming season with Thomas Ian Griffith reprising the role. Watch the teaser below…

Silver was introduced in The Karate Kid Part III as a friend of John Kreese and helped finance and found the Cobra Kai dojo. Like Kreese, Silver is a ruthless karate fighter and plotted with Kreese to get revenge on Daniel and Mr. Miyagi after their victory over Cobra Kai in the first Karate Kid and Kreese’s subsequent humiliation from Miyagi at the start of Karate Kid Part II. As part of their plan, Silver drove a wedge between Daniel and Miyagi, manipulating Daniel into leaving the Miyagi Dojo and briefly train as a Cobra Kai student. When Daniel won the All Valley Tournament against Silver’s student Mike Barnes, he left the Valley in disgrace and Cobra Kai was no more.

The full backstory to Silver was revealed in Cobra Kai‘s third season as flashbacks detailed John Kreese’s days in the Vietnam War and how he began to be so ruthless. He saved Silver’s life, a fact which he felt indebted to Kreese for the rest of his life. The third season concluded with Martin Kove’s Kreese in the present day calling an old friend following another defeat at the hands of Johnny and Daniel. Many believed it was Silver he was calling due to the flashbacks and Kreese looking at a picture of him and Silver from their Vietnam days, a point Netflix has now confirmed.

The fourth season of Cobra Kai recently wrapped production and will premiere on Netflix sometime this year.
