Robert Rodriguez’s Ben Affleck thriller Hypnotic adds Alice Braga and sets start date

June 2, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

One of the multitude of films subject to a pandemic postponement was Robert Rodriguez’s Ben Affleck thriller Hypnotic, which was originally set for an April 2020 start date. Well now it appears that production is set to get underway again, with Predators and Queen of the South star Alice Braga joining the cast.

Deadline report that Hypnotic will go before the cameras in Austin, Texas from September 20th. Written by Alita: Battle Angel’s Rodriguez and Max Borenstein (Kong: Skull Island), the film will see Affleck playing a detective becomes entangled in a mystery involving his missing daughter and a secret government program during an investigation into a series of impossible high-end heists.

As of now there are no details on Braga’s character, but she can be seen next playing Sol Soria in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, while Affleck is currently shooting his Batman farewell in DC’s The Flash, and has George Clooney’s Tender Bar, Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel and Adrian Lyne’s Deep Water already in the can.
