Video Review – The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

June 2, 2021 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno reviews the latest film in The Conjuring Universe…

Without the skills of James Wan, the mainline entries in The Conjuring films feel lost. The latest movie, The Devil Made Me Do It, ends up feeling more like one of the lackluster spin-offs than the core series of films that keep horror fans hooked. Critic EJ Moreno feels the movie lacks the extra quality to make it a worthwhile entry in this long-running film series.

“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” reveals a chilling story of terror, murder, and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga). One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It arrives in cinemas and on HBO Max on June 4th.
