Audible announces The Sandman Act II release date and new cast additions

July 25, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Audible has announced that the second instalment of its audio drama series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman is set to release this September, bringing with it several new additions to the all-star voice cast.

The Sandman: Act II sees the return of James McAvoy in the title role as Dream, with Kat Dennings, Michael Sheen and Andy Serkis reprising their respective roles. New additions include Jeffrey Wright, Regé-Jean Page, Brian Cox, Emma Corrin, John Lithgow, David Tennant, Bill Nighy, Kristen Schaal, Kevin Smith, Aidan Turner, Bebe Neuwirth, Adrian Lester, Miriam Margolyes, Arthur Darvill, and Ray Porter.

The second instalment of The Sandman follows last year’s first chapter, which topped The New York Times Best Seller Audio Fiction list and quickly became the bestselling Audible Original in the company’s history. Act II will adapt volumes four to six of Gaiman’s comic book series, including ‘Season of Mists’, ‘A Game of You’, ‘Distant Mirrors’, and ‘Convergence’.

The Sandman: Act II will debut on September 22nd, while the series has already been renewed for a third act, covering volumes seven and eight.
