Frank Grillo to lead action thriller Hounds of War

Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) has been cast as the lead in the action thriller Hounds of War. Per Deadline, the film comes from Electric Entertainment with Lowell Dean (Wolf Cop) directing from a script written by Jean Pierre Magro (Blood On The Crown).

Hounds of War focuses on “a group of mercenaries who take on jobs that are considered impossible. After a mission goes wrong due to a shocking betrayal, only one of them is left alive to avenge his fallen brothers.”

Hounds of War will be a co-production between Trilight Entertainment and Jaggurnaught with Electric handling international sales of the film. Shayne Putzlocher is producing for Trilight alongside Magro, Pedja Miletic and Aaron Briffa for Jaggernaught. Grillo will also serve as an executive producer with Nika Finch and Polina Pushkareva. Sara Shaak of Anamorphic Media is producing and co-financing the production.

“Frank Grillo has become an international superstar, and with the continuous appetite for commercial action features, a project like Hounds of War will be highly sought-after in territories worldwide,” said Electric’s Senior VP Nolan Pielak.

“I can speak for the whole team and say we are absolutely thrilled to have Frank as the star of our film. His commitment to the script and his superior experience in the action genre are going to give audiences a real treat,” Putzlocher said.
