Matt Reeves, Damon Lindelof and Oscar Sharp to develop magic medical series The Human Conditions for HBO Max

July 24, 2021 by Ricky Church

Writer and director Oscar Sharp (The Kármán Line) has teamed up with Matt Reeves (The Batman) and Damon Lindelof (Watchmen) to develop The Human Conditions, a “magical-realist” medical series for HBO Max.

The Human Conditions will focus on “a young British doctor who must learn to treat impossible, fantastical illnesses by healing the emotional issues that underlie them — and confronting her own along the way.”

Sharp will write and direct the series and serve as an executive producer with Lindelof and Reeves. The Human Conditions will be produced by Reeves’ 6th & Idaho company, Warner Bros. Television and Brightstar. Producing alongside the trio is Daniel Pipski and Rafi Crohn for 6th & Idaho and Tanya Seghatchian and John Woodward for Brightstar.
