Billy Zane joins Peacock’s MacGruber series as villain

August 16, 2021 by EJ Moreno

Billy Zane will face off with MacGruber in a battle no one saw coming as the actor has been cast in the upcoming MacGruber series coming to Peacock.

Zane is replacing Mickey Rourke in the role of Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. He’ll be joining series leads Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, and cast members Sam Elliott and Laurence Fishburne.

Also joining the series are Joseph Lee Anderson and Timothy V. Murphy. Anderson will play Major Harold Kernst, the right-hand man of General Fasoose. Murphy will reprise the role of Constantine Bach, Dieter von Cunth’s ruthless henchman, who has returned to seek revenge against MacGruber.

MacGruber is based on the Saturday Night Live sketches and film of the same name, which grossed $9.3 million worldwide against a $10 million budget. The official synopsis for the eight-episode series reads:

“After rotting in prison for over a decade, America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber (Forte) is finally released. His mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past—Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth (Zane). With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must reassemble his old team, Vicki St. Elmo (Wiig) and Dixon Piper (Phillippe), in order to defeat the forces of evil.”
